A number of our group attended the presentation of a Toyota Camry for which we had donated money. The presentation occurred on Friday 18th Sept 2009 at the Quarter Deck Function Centre Penrith. Representatives from all the groups who donated to the cause received framed certificates of appreciation. The function was also attended by David Bradbury – Federal Member for Penrith. The car “Greg’s Gadabout” a dedicated oncology transport vehicle purchased through community fund raising and named in memory of Greg Marshall a passed GCT chairperson and tireless disability advocate who lost his battle against cancer. The Toyota Camry driven by dedicated volunteers and used only to transport people in Penrith who need transport to their oncology treatments. They receive no Government funding to provide this service, hence the need to fund raise to purchase a vehicle. There is a link on our website to Great Community Transport.
